National Technical Advisor – United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat)
Highest Qualification: MA in Urban Management, Erasmus University and Institute for Housing & Urban Management Studies (IHS), Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Mr Chileshe is responsible for UN Habitat operations in Zambia, providing technical advice to the United Nationals Country Team (UNCT) and technical support and policy advice to the Ministry of Local Government and Housing & Ministry of National Planning on housing. He is also involved in the planning and support review of spatial planning legislation, rural-urban linkages and local economic development as well as promoting the inclusion of urban disaster risk reduction and shelter issues in the National Development Planning process.
As previous Executive Director of the Economics Association of Zambia, he was responsible for the review and analysis of impact of various government economic and social policies on poverty reduction.
Mr. Chileshe believes the MPhil in Development Policy and Practice will strengthen his capacity to support the Government of the Republic of Zambia in policy review and development.
