Dr. Grammer is accountable for strategic and operational oversight of quality, comprehensive district health service provision within a quarter of the City of Cape Town District. She is one of four directors reporting to the Chief Director: Metro District Health Services who is accountable for the most populous health district in Western Cape with 70% of the provincial population. She also has management and financial accountability responsibility for overall expenditure and audit compliance and supply chain management is vested within her role as a de-centralised district manager. Over the years she has been fortunate enough to have planned and commissioned health infrastructure projects in collaboration with infrastructure colleagues in DOH and Implementing Agent, DTP
Dr. Grammer was the institutional head of a small district hospital of 70 beds located in Cape Town Health District from 2002 to 2008. This involved line managerial accountability for all strategic and operational planning and implementation, inclusive of clinical service commissioning, people management, financial and supply chain management, quality assurance and clinical governance.
