Responsible for supporting the Burundi Government to improve the business environment for small and medium companies and address key market failures through dialogue with the private sector. Has chosen to expand her outlook beyond her country of origin into the EAC sub-region. Believes best practices can be successfully applied in similar socio-economic contexts and intends to return to Rwanda to contribute to the development of a vibrant economy.
Previously Director General of the Rwandan Ministry of Trade and Industry in charge of Investment Climate Reforms and Intellectual Property. Spearheaded the enactment of a number of key new Business laws including a new Companies Act, Secured Transactions Bill and law on Special Economic Zones amongst others (2009-May 2013).
Prior to that she was a Trade Counsellor at the Rwandan Embassy in the United States (2002-2008).
