Project Manager: National Treasury - Jobs Fund Highest Degree: BSc Agribusiness (4 year degree), 2009, University of KwaZulu/Natal
The Jobs Fund was launched in 2011 by the Minister of Finance to co-finance projects by public, private and non-governmental organisations that will significantly contribute to job creation. In her job as project manager her responsibilities include: conducting appraisals for projects applying for funding to the Jobs Fund, making recommendations and motivating for the approval of projects meeting Jobs Fund criteria. She also facilitates contracting processes for all projects approved by the investment committee and plays a role of oversight for the implementation of the projects.
Previously she was the Programmes Manager and Assistant Manager at Lima responsible for oversight on all community development projects implemented in the Gauteng, Limpopo, and Free State provinces. She provided support to Site Managers and Facilitators, Stakeholders and was involved in piloting research projects such as the study of “Linking people from poor households to economic opportunities” in partnership with the Department of Social development and SASSA. Her last involvement was on Livelihood promotion, partnering with organizations from Southern, Western and Eastern Africa to share best practices on livelihoods promotion strategies.
