Leading in Public Life: Women, Influence, Power Programme 2021
11 Oct 2021 - 12:15
What happens when you bring together twenty-five women from across sub-Saharan Africa? Real-life experiences and information is shared in a highly interactive leadership intervention. A new network of solidarity and trust amongst African women working in the rule of law and social justice sector is formed, and a supportive environment is facilitated to promote connectivity and competency to navigate both the stresses and skills required for stepping up and taking on greater political and public leadership roles.
However, it’s not as straightforward as coming together. Global literature reflects the multitude of ways women in positions of power are still constrained. There is limited access to opportunities for aspiring women leaders to fulfil these positions of power.
It is for this reason that the Mandela School and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung partnered once again to deliver the Leading in Public Life: Women, Influence, Power Programme.
The programme aims to promote and strengthen the inclusive representation of women aspiring to or currently in political and public leadership roles and improve the quality of legislation and the rule of law.
Meet Leading in Public Life: Women, Influence, Power Programme2021 cohort.
We look forward to a transformative learning process that will enrich the individual and collective leadership development journey; space for the 2021 cohort to establish a strong network of solidarity and foster relationships of trust with peers from across the African continent.
